Education, as a very important factor to human development, is of a high priority in the overall development endeavor of the Countries and commonly said “Education is the key instrument in the development of nations”. Education, as a very important factor to human development, is of a high priority in the overall development endeavor of Ethiopia. To realize this Ethiopia developed a comprehensive education and training and remarkable progress has been made in the last couple of decades in terms of both access and quality. However, the sector is still challenged by different factors.  The education and training policy identified access, quality, equity and relevance as the main challenges of the education system. There is a general shortage of schools, classrooms, instructional materials, qualified teachers, low stakeholders participation, lack of motivation, lack of institutional integration, lack of financial resources, low awareness of the community on education especially in the pastoral community in preference of child labor and early marriage than education.

Center of Concern is contributing to the improvement of quality education since 2014 in collaboration with the technical and financial support of different partners. In the past years it has built the capacity of teachers and the community through trainings & workshops, supplied scholastic materials, provided scholarships for many needy students, supplied laboratory kits, science kits, sport kits, refurbished old class rooms, constructed new class rooms, libraries and laboratories in different schools of Sidama and SNNP Regional States.
